BBC Radio 1 Finally getting it right....

I thought it was only fitting that I post up a little piece about BBC's most recent essential mix. Coming from one of my favourite UK based producers, and perhaps one of the UK bass scene's 'men of the moment'; Rustie. His debut album 'Glass Swords' won the Guardian Newspapers 'first album award' and received a huge amount of critical acclaim through various blogs and other music outlets. It's fair to say..along with Hudson Mohawke and Lunice etc, Rustie is at the very forefront of their own style of genre; an electronic synth-ey bass influenced music, which is gaining even more popularity each day.

With the likes of Hudson Mohawke having production credits on Kanye's new track 'Mercy' and artists like Earl Sweatshirt and super producer 'Just Blaze' reaching out to the UK producer, it's only a matter of time before the genres form into full projects. Exciting times! Well enough talk, if you're a fan of labels like Numbers, Lucky Me, Warp or even if you like harmonised bass music....I URGE YOU TO LISTEN TO THIS. Filled with an absurd amount of exclusives from Rustie, Lunice, some of the Numbers DJ's and Deaf and Ignorant favourite; Baauer...it's not one to be missed. Check it out here and download here.

And, as I said....Radio 1 are getting it right at the moment. They also got Lunice, yes LUNICE...and Diplo's right hand man Paul Devro to assist the Mad Decent owners first Diplo and Friends show. Again, it's filled with amazing tracks....everything from A$AP Rocky, Waka Flocka Flame and Drake to Lunice, Flosstradamus The Blessings. Go and have a listen to that below;
