Introducing Le1f

There are definitely some characters in rap...Lil B's mixtape 'I'm Gay' caused a storm in the industry, whilst artists like Danny Brown, Action Bronson and even Tyler The Creator continue to shock the world with their style and fashion sense. But when Pitchfork magazine recently wrote an article on the gay rap scene in New York, I was introduced to a different level of the 'Weird' rap scene. One of the rappers at the forefront of that scene is Le1f, who just released his mixtape 'Dark York'. Filled with beats from producers like himself, NGUZU NGUZU, Live For The Funk favourite; Tom Richman and 5kinAndBone5 amongst others, it's a dark and trippy project designed to explore the unorthodox side of Hip Hop. Rapping on subjects like sexuality, gender and prejudice, it's no surprise that Fact Magazine said this was; 'one of the most provocative rap releases so far this year'.
