Detroit Mixtape - Big Sean

Big Sean's finally dropped mixtape 'Detroit' having teased his fans with video's and teaser clip's the past couple of weeks. The G.O.O.D artist called on features from French Montana, Juicy J, Kendrick Lamar, Tyga among others like Jeezy and Chris Brown to help out on his fourth tape. And as you'd expect....the beats came from producers like Southside, Lex Luger, Hit-Boy, The Internz and Key Wane. Cop it below;

The Juicy J Hustle

There are few artists who can match the hustle of Juicy J. Releasing four mixtapes last year, the Three 6 legend has carried on his grind into 2012 releasing 10 bonus tracks from 'Blue Dream & Lean' and readying the release of the 2nd instalment in his collaboration with Lex Luger 'Young Nigga Movement 2'. 

Amongst an absurd amount of features with Taylor Gang artists and everyone from Big KRIT, Mellowhigh and E-40 he's also preparing his album 'Stay Trippy' and another collaborative project with Wiz..... So in the midst of all of his projects...Juicy still finds the time to drop yet another banger on his fans - as if you needed any more reason to download it; Jahlil Beats is on production. I'm Up - Gucci Mane Mixtape

Gucci's back with yet another mixtape having only dropped 'Trap Back' in February. Everybody knows the deal when Gucci drops a new tape, there's always going to be some ridiculous features - this time coming in the form of 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Fabolous and naturally you expect the likes of Mike Will, Drumma Boy, Sonny Digital and Lex Luger on production. Gucci doesn't disappoint.

Juicy J Releases 10 Bonus Tracks from 'Blue Dream and Lean'

Six months after dropping stellar mix-tape 'Blue Dream and Lean', Juicy J has dropped ten new bonus tracks off of the project. Featuring production from resident Juicy beat makers; Lex Luger and Sonny Digital among more from Deaf and Ignorant favourites; Jahlil Beats and  SpaceGhostPurrp. His first official Taylor Gang album; ‘Stay Trippy’ is due out soon but what better way to keep his fans happy then to drop 10 new tracks...

Odd Future X Lex Luger

Mellowhype (Left Brain & Hodgy Beats side project) of Odd Future collaborate with co-member Domo Genesis on a beat made by none other than Lex Luger. This is the second time that Domo Genesis has worked with the beat maker, and I for one can say it's not a bad thing....Domo's flow works well with the trademark Luger drums...and, well Hodgy Beats kills everything;

Hip Hop Re-Cap - Roman Reloaded & California Republic

It's been a busy few weeks in the Hip Hop world. New tracks from Dr Dre with Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa and a Stalley Mixtape. But whilst all this was going on, I forgot to note about two other projects; The Game's mixtape - California Republic and Nicki Minaj's 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded'.


Lets start with 'California Republic'. I think The Game realised he had to step up with this one. Artists like Wiz, Stalley and Mac Miller have brought out some solid mixtapes recently - filled with huge features and beats from producers like Clams Casino, Chad from the Neptunes...even SpaceGhostPurrp. To say that The Game stepped up would be a bit of an understatement. 24 tracks, with nearly each one featuring someone impressive - Four beats from both Cool & Dre and the Neptunes, with the other tracks being made by anyone from; Beat Bully/Tone Beats, Lex Luger, Just Blaze, Boi 1da, the tape could have featured just himself with these beats alone and i'd probably be impressed. But as you'd expect, there had to be some assistance from the industry's biggest rappers...Lil Wayne, Snoop, Pharrell, Rick Ross, Fabulous, Meek Mill....take your pick. Next up...Nicki Minaj. She's had a lot of stick in the past year...collaborations with the wrong people (David Guetta and Willow Smith) have damaged her credibility as a rapper...so much so that people were claiming her verse on Drake's 'Make Me Proud' nearly ruined the album. Roman Reloaded is Nicki Minaj's way of telling everyone that she's not just a rapper. There are RnB tracks on there (Marilyn Monroe and Fire Burns) similar to 'Moment 4 Life', and even more of her hit & miss obsession with Trance (Beautiful Sinner and Pound the Alarm). But the important thing is there are some great Hip Hop songs on there, and if you need to combine that with some Pop in order to sell 250,000+ copies....then so be it. One thing I have to ask as a genuine Hip Hop Fan...WHY did Nas have to grace his lyrics on 'Champion' though!? Two ridiculous tracks featuring 2 Chainz (Beez in the Trap) and Rick Ross/ Cam'ron (I am Your Leader) make it all right though.

Wiz Khalifa crashes the Internet

Last night, Wiz Khalifa dropped highly anticipated mixtape Taylor Allderdice. Having been one of the tens of thousands of people trying to get it from the Exclusive site; Datpiff last night I feel the pain of all the Wiz fans out there. It actually took me two and a half hours until I was able to get onto the Datpiff site, let alone even download the mixtape - crazy. According to sources, Wiz's Datpiff site was receiving 20,000 refreshes per second on the moment of the release, no wonder the site crashed. The mixtape has now been downloaded over 420,000 times in under 24 hours of release - with artists like Lex Luger, Rick Ross, Juicy J, Chevy Woods and Harry Fraud on it, is there any wonder it went Platinum on the website within 8 hours. New Hip Hop Videos

Unless you're a Hip Hop, or even music recluse...chances are you would have heard Tyga's 'Rack City'. So it wasn't surprising when the Young money rapper called on some of Hip Hop's biggest names for the remix. Check out the Video below;
